1. How do I register?
To register for Walk a Mile in HER Shoes it's as easy as clicking on the Register Now button at the top of this page and follow the instructions.  Start collecting pledges right away by creating your own personal fundraising page!  If you would prefer to register by phone call Valerie at 905-684-4000 ext. 233 or e-mail her at development@gilliansplace.com.

2. What is a personal online fundraising page?
We provide walkers with the option of creating a personal online fundraising page.  This online tool will help and assist you with collecting pledges.  Create your own fundraising goal, post your picture, tell your story of why you have chosen to participate - the options are endless!  Once your page is complete send it to your friends via e-mail and/or social media websites such as Facebook and/or Twitter.  Friends, family and co-workers will be able to pledge you safely and securely online using their credit card.  This means no more keeping track of individual donations on paper brochures and in addition your sponsors will automatically receive a tax receipt for their donations to their e-mail account.  It is simple and easy to use and we are always here to help and support if needed.

4. What should I wear?
We suggest that you wear shorts in order to show off your shoes; however pants are fine.  Skirts, dresses, and wigs are not permitted.  If participating on a team we encourage to come dressed with some team spirit!  Bring your banners, flags, and/or wear your team/school jerseys!  Show your pride!

5. Do I need to find my own pair of shoes for the event?
No.  However, if you would prefer to purchase your own and bring them to the event you are more than welcome.  For those of you who need them, Men's sizes ranging from 7 - 15 will be available on the shoe rack at the event.  Come early to get the best selection!  Please note: our number of participants continues to grow each year, and though we try our best to ensure we have a pair of shoes for everyone, we can not guarantee that there will be a pair in your size on event day.

6. Do I have to wear high heels?
