About Gillian's Place

For over 35 years Gillian's Place has protected and served abused women and their children in St. Catharines and North Niagara. Whether women need the safety of the shelter or access to the many programs offered on an outreach basis, Gillian's Place is here to help. The agency has grown to provide a range of services for women which include a 24 hour support line, safe shelter, safety planning and counselling, emotional support, legal advice, transitional assistance and public education. All services are free, completely confidential and available to all women 16 and over. You do not need to stay in the shelter to access our services.

"I know that life has changed for my family and that the pattern of abuse has stopped for us because I had the courage to leave". ~Anonymous former resident of Gillian's Place

Walk a Mile in HER Shoes ® is a symbolic march that gives men the opportunity to take a stand against the societal restrictions placed on women and specifically the issue of violence against women and children; it shows that men are willing to stand together with women in making the world a safer place for women and children.

By taking part in the pledged Walk, you will be making a statement that violence against women and children is not just a women's issue - it's EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS and must be solved by the entire community.

Walk the Walk.
Make a difference.
And let the "heeling" begin!
