Walk a Mile in HER Shoes is a symbolic gesture of men marching in female footwear to raise awareness and money on the issues of violence against women. The Walk gives men the opportunity to publicly take a stand on the issues of violence against women and children; it shows that men are willing to stand together with women in making the world a safer place for all women and children.

About Gillian's PlaceFor over 30 years, Gillian's Place has protected and served abused women and their children in St. Catharines and North Niagara. Whether women need the safety of the shelter or access to the many programs offered, Gillians's Place is here to help. The shelter has grown to provide many services for women which include a 24 hour support line, safe shelter, safety planning, emotional support, legal advice, transitional assistance and public education. All services are completely confidential.
